Connor Zary is having a challenging start to 2026-27.
After being a healthy scratch on Saturday, the Calgary Flames placed the 25-year-old centre on waivers on Monday, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported.
Zary, who had an assist in the season opener last week, did return to the lineup in Seattle on Monday.
Zary, 25, is in the second year of a three-year deal worth $3.775 million annually.
The 2020 first-round pick (24th overall) had 12 goals and 13 assists in 74 games last season, his third full year with the NHL club.
The Flames also placed defenceman Brayden Pachal on waivers Monday. He had one goal and six assists in 39 games for Calgary last season.
New York Rangers defenceman Matthew Robertson also has been added to the waiver wire. He had six goals and 12 assists in 72 games with New York last season.
Boston Bruins forward Michael Eyssimont and San Jose Sharks forward Patrick Giles cleared waivers Monday.
