Flames sign Alex Nylander to one-year, two-way deal

Alex Nylander has earned himself a contract.

The Calgary Flames have signed the forward to a one-year, two-way deal off his professional tryout, the team announced on Friday.

The deal is worth $850,000 in the NHL.

Nylander spent 2025-26 with the AHL's Toronto Marlies, recording 24 goals and 29 assists for 53 points in 65 games. He also scored six goals in the Marlies' post-season run that saw them win the Calder Cup.

The 28-year-old has played 126 career NHL games for the Sabres, Blackhawks, Penguins, Blue Jackets and alongside his brother William on the Maple Leafs. He's registered 49 points (25 goals and 24 assists) at the highest level.
