Flames sign forward Brett Ritchie to one-year contract

The Calgary Flames have signed forward Brett Ritchie to a one-year deal worth $900,000, the team announced.

Ritchie appeared in 32 games with the Flames last season recoding four goals and eights points. The 28-year-old joined Calgary on a professional tryout and eventually found himself playing alongside Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan.

In 300 career NHL games, Ritchie has recorded 68 points with the Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins and the Flames. The Orangeville, Ont., native was drafted in the second round of the 2011 NHL Draft by Dallas.
