CALGARY — The Calgary Flames have signed defenceman Abram Wiebe to a two-year contact with an average annual value of US$950,000, the NHL club announced Friday.
Wiebe, from Mission, B.C., had five goals and 24 assists in 40 games with the University of North Dakota in the 2025-26 NCAA season.
He also played four games with the U.S. Collegiate Selects at the 2026 Spengler Cup.
Wiebe spent four seasons with the BCHL’s Chilliwack Chiefs, earning the league's top defenceman award in 2022-23, before joining North Dakota.
Calgary acquired Wiebe, defenceman Zach Whitecloud, a 2027 first-round pick, and a conditional 2028 second-round pick in exchange for defenceman Rasmus Andersson in a Jan. 18 trade with Vegas.
The Golden Knights selected Wiebe in the seventh round (209th overall) at the 2022 NHL draft.
