Flames' Vladar day-to-day with lower-body injury, Cooley recalled from AHL

Calgary Flames' Devin Cooley credits all the success he's had in the American Hockey League to goalie coach Mackenzie Skapski and hopes to take what he's learned and apply it in the NHL.

Calgary Flames goaltender Dan Vladar is considered day-to-day due to a lower-body injury, the team announced Friday.

Subsequently, Devin Cooley was recalled from the AHL's Calgary Wranglers on an emergency basis.

Vladar gave up eight goals on 26 shots during Thursday's 8-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He holds a 6-6-4 record, 3.08 goals-against average and .885 save percentage in 16 games this season.

Cooley joined the Flames as an unrestricted free agent this past summer on a two-year deal. He posted a 2-3-1 record, 4.98 GAA and .870 save percentage in six games with the San Jose Sharks last season.

The 27-year-old from Los Gatos, Calif., has appeared in 18 games with the Wranglers and has a 14-3-0 record, 1.80 GAA and .942 save percentage.

The Flames (14-11-5) return to action Saturday night hosting the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.
