The Philadelphia Flyers have signed left-handed defenceman Adam Ginning to a two-year contract extension, worth an average annual value of $787,500, the team announced on Monday.
The six-foot-three, Swedish blueliner's contract will begin on a two-way deal for the upcoming season, while upgrading to a one-way in 2025-2026.
Ginning has spent the past two seasons primarily with the Flyers' AHL team, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, totalling five goals and 29 assists in 126 games during that time. After debuting for the NHL club for one game in 2022-23, Ginning was called up the following year where he registered one goal through nine games.
Prior to starting his North American pro career, the Flyers' second-round pick of the 2018 NHL Draft played six seasons in the Swedish Hockey League, split between Linköping HC and Färjestad BK.
Ginning also represented Sweden at the World Junior Championship in 2019 and returned in 2020 where he helped his country take home a bronze medal.
