The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Derick Brassard to a one-year contract.
Brassard’s deal comes with an $825,000 cap hit. The 33-year-old spent the 2020-21 season with the Arizona Coyotes where he had eight goals and 20 points in 53 games.

The Hull, Que., native reunites with Alain Vigneault after he played for the Flyers head coach with the New York Rangers where they made the Stanley Cup Final in 2014. This is Brassard’s ninth team since entering the league with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2007.
During his 14 seasons in the NHL, Brassard has scored 503 points in 905 career games with the Coyotes, Rangers, Blue Jackets, Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche and New York Islanders.
