The Philadelphia Flyers will be without Tyson Foerster for quite a while.
The forward will be out for five months following successful surgery on his arm on Dec. 15, the team announced Wednesday.
The Flyers initially said Foerster would be out two to three months on Dec. 2, but after further medical consultation and diagnostic testing, Foerster required an operation.
Foerster suffered the injury while shooting a one-timer against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Dec. 1.
The six-foot-two winger has 10 goals and three assists in 21 games this season. He recorded a career-best 25 goals and 18 assists in 81 games last season.
