The Montreal Canadiens have locked up goaltender Jakub Dobes to a two-year contract, the team announced Sunday.
The deal will pay Dobes an average annual value of $965,000.
Dobes, a fifth-round selection by the Canadiens in 2020, enjoyed a solid first campaign in the NHL.
The 24-year-old Czech goalie posted a .909 save percentage and a 2.74 goals-against average in 16 games, going 7-4-3. Dobes also made three post-season appearances for Montreal, recording an .891 save percentage and a 2.91 GAA.
In his American Hockey League career, Dobes owns a 2.82 GAA and .906 save percentage in 65 games.
