Braeden Bowman's punishment for elbowing Matthew Poitras will end at five and a game.
The Vegas Golden Knights forward is not facing discipline for the play that occurred in his team's 3-2 shootout loss to the Boston Bruins on Monday, Sportsnet's Frank Seravalli reported on Tuesday.
Bowman avoided a further fine or suspension since his elbow was tucked into his body and the head was not deemed to be the principal point of contact, per Seravalli.
Poitras fell backward after taking the elbow and was seen bleeding from his face onto the ice before heading to the Bruins locker room.
Boston capitalized on the ensuing power play when forward Morgan Geekie scored to put his team up 2-0.
Poitras eventually returned to the Bruins' bench later in the period, sporting a full bubble shield.
Bowman, 23, has three goals and three assists in 15 games this season, while Poitras, 22, has four goals and three assists in 11 games.
