There is a very good chance centre Jack Eichel will play his first game in almost two months when the Vegas Golden Knights face the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday.
Eichel, 27, has not played since Jan. 11 due to a suspected knee injury. He underwent surgery in mid-January and has been recovering since then.
Vegas head coach Bruce Cassidy told media in Columbus that "I suspect he'll play," according to Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers, after Eichel participated in practice, though it remains a game-time decision.
The American had 19 goals and 44 points in 42 games before being waylaid by the injury.
The Golden Knights play the Blue Jackets at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT in a game that can be seen on Sportsnet+.
