The Vegas Golden Knights pulled off a thrilling last-second victory over the Edmonton Oilers and they did it without their captain.
Mark Stone did not play the final 6:20 of the opening frame of Game 3 against the Edmonton Oilers and was not visible on the bench.
Shortly after the start of the second period, Vegas announced Stone would not return to the game due to an upper-body injury.
It's unclear when exactly he suffered the injury, but he did make incidental head contact with the knee of Oilers forward Corey Perry and appeared to be in discomfort afterwards.
Stone played 5:54 total, recorded one shot on goal and was a minus-one.
Following the Golden Knights' 4-3 win, head coach Bruce Cassidy told reporters that Stone will be considered day-to-day.
Missing the 32-year-old for any additional time would be a big loss for the Golden Knights, as he leads the team in playoff goals with four in eight games, and is second only to Jack Eichel in points this post-season (eight).
