The Vegas Golden Knights will still be down a top piece as they look to retake the lead in their second-round series against the Anaheim Ducks.
Captain Mark Stone is set to miss Tuesday's Game 5 against Anaheim (Sportsnet, 9:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. PT), the team told reporters after morning practice.
Stone suffered an undisclosed injury in Game 3 and missed Vegas' Game 4 loss on Sunday.
He appeared to suffer the injury backchecking on a power play midway through the first period. He left the ice favouring his left leg and did not return to the bench for the start of the second.
He would eventually appear on the bench a little later in the second, but after a quick skate during a timeout to test things out, Stone slammed his stick and headed back down the tunnel.
Stone had picked up a first-period assist on Shea Theodore's opening goal in the 6-2 Game 3 rout, giving him three goals and four assists in nine playoff games this season.
The 33-year-old forward recorded 28 goals and 45 assists in 60 regular-season games.
