The Vegas Golden Knights re-signed forward Reilly Smith to a one-year, $2 million contract Tuesday.
Smith, who was an unrestricted free agent, returned to Vegas after he was acquired from the New York Rangers in March. He finished the regular season with 40 points (13 goals and 27 assists) in 79 games split between the Rangers and Golden Knights.
The 34-year-old from Mimico, Ont., also had four points (three goals and one assist) in 11 playoff games with Vegas.
Smith was drafted in the third round, 69th overall, by the Dallas Stars in 2009.
After bouncing around to the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers, Smith was traded to the Golden Knights ahead of their inaugural season in 2017. He scored a career-high 60 points (22 goals and 38 assists) during the regular season and had 22 points (five goals and 17 assists) in 20 playoff games to help the Golden Knights reach the Stanley Cup Final.
Smith captured the Stanley Cup with Vegas in 2023.
He has 553 career points (226 goals and 327 assists) in 919 games with the Stars, Bruins, Panthers, Golden Knights, Pittsburgh Penguins and Rangers.
