With incertainties surrounding stalwart defenceman Alex Pietrangelo, the Golden Knights have opted to extend one of their young blue-liners.
Defenceman Kaedan Korczak has signed a four-year, $13 million extension with the Golden Knights, worth $3.25 million in average annual value, the team announced Wednesday.
The new deal will keep Korczak in Vegas through the 2029-30 season.
Korczak, 24, made a career-high 40 appearances with the Golden Knights last season, picking up 10 assists in the process and finishing with a +15 plus-minus.
The native of Yorkton, Sask. was drafted by the Golden Knights 41st overall in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft.
Since being drafted, Korczak has picked up one goal and 20 assists through 77 games at the NHL level.
