Group of 24 NHL players opt for salary arbitration with teams

Twenty-four NHL players have decided to file for arbitration, the NHLPA announced yesterday.

The list includes seven players from Canadian teams. Three members of the Calgary Flames were among those who filed: Andrew Mangiapane, Matthew Phillips, and Oliver Kylington. The two Edmonton Oilers were Juess Puljujarvi and Kailer Yamamoto. Ottawa's Mathieu Joseph and the Jets' Mason Appleton were the other two players from Canadian clubs.

Teams have until 5 p.m. ET on Monday to opt for salary arbitration with players. Hearings will be held from July 27 to August 11.
