Henri Jokiharju is sticking around in Beantown.
The free-agent defenceman has signed a three-year, $9 million contract extension with the Boston Bruins, the team announced on Monday.
The Finnish-born defenceman, 26, finished last season with Boston after the Bruins acquired him from the Buffalo Sabres at the trade deadline.
Jokiharju finished with three goals and seven assists in 60 combined games with the Bruins and Sabres last season.
He has 19 goals and 78 assists for 97 points in 407 career games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Sabres and Bruins.
The Blackhawks picked Jokiharju in the first round (29th overall) in the 2017 NHL Draft.
Jokiharju played two years of junior hockey with the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL before joining the pro ranks.
