Two of the most iconic names in Vancouver Canucks history are back in the fold, as the club announced Tuesday that Henrik and Daniel Sedin are joining the team's front office as special advisors to general manager Jim Benning.

The pair's impact on the club's history is unrivalled, having amassed more games and points in a Canucks sweater than any others.
Henrik, who served as captain from 2010–18, ranks top among all-time Canucks players in games played (1330), assists (830) and points (1070). Daniel, who served as alternate captain for that same eight-year period, ranks second all-time in games played (1306), second in assists (648), second in points (1041) and has the most goals of anyone to don Canucks colours (393).
"Henrik and Daniel's hockey intellect and experience is exceptional," Benning said of the duo, via a release. "We've had an open line of communication since they retired as players. They are students of the game, eager to learn, who will make valuable contributions and strengthen our staff. We are very pleased to add their knowledge and passion for the game and have them begin the next stage of their careers with us."
Now set to move into an off-ice role with their former club, the Sedins will be involved with "player evaluation, development and communication from the amateur to NHL level" while also working with the team's AHL affiliate in Abbotsford, participating in scouting meetings, and helping with planning for the NHL Draft, free agency and the trade deadline.
"When we retired, we always thought we'd like to be involved in the business side of hockey one day," Daniel Sedin said of the new roles. "There's a lot to learn, but we are excited and ready for the opportunity. This team has some of the best young players in the NHL and we want to do everything we can to support the group and achieve our goals."
Added Henrik: "We are grateful and humbled by the opportunity to contribute to the team we care so much about. The province and the fans care deeply about this team. As we've said, being part of the Canucks family has been the best time in our lives.
"It is an honour to be back, and we will do everything we can to learn and contribute to the success of this team."
