The Carolina Hurricanes acquired defenceman Kyle Masters from the Anaheim Ducks for forward Noah Philp on Tuesday.
Masters appeared in 10 games last season in the ECHL with the Wichita Thunder, where he had three assists.
The Minnesota Wild originally selected the 23-year-old in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Draft.
Philp recorded three points in 15 games with the Edmonton Oilers this season before being claimed off waivers by Carolina. He appeared in two games with the Hurricanes and spent the majority of the season in the AHL with the Chicago Wolves, where he had 17 points in 19 regular-season games.
