The Carolina Hurricanes have activated goaltender Antti Raanta from injured reserve, clearing the way for him to return from a one-month absence, the team announced Wednesday.
Raanta has been out since Feb. 8 with a lower-body injury.
The Hurricanes have had to dig into their depth at goaltender with Frederik Andersen also having been sidelined for much of the year with a blood clotting issue.
Pyotr Kochetkov and Spencer Martin have filled in admirably as the Hurricanes sit second in the Metropolitan Division.
Raanta is 12-7-2 with a 2.99 goals-against average and .872 save percentage this season.
