Carolina Hurricanes defenceman Shayne Gostisbehere has been activated from the injured reserve and is expected to return Tuesday against the Washington Capitals, according to the team.
Gostisbehere has missed the last six contests due to an abdominal injury. He last suited up in a loss to the Las Vegas Golden Knights on Oct. 28.
The Hurricanes will place Charles-Alexis Legault on the injured reserve with a hand injury, in a corresponding move.
Gostisbehere has tallied one goal, six assists and is a plus-eight through six games this season.
Carolina is looking for a fifth consecutive win on Tuesday. The Hurricanes sit second in the Metropolitan Division at 11-4-0.
