Finland beckons for the Carolina Hurricanes and Seattle Kraken.
The teams will play a pair of games at the Veikkaus Arenain in Helsinki on Nov. 12 and 14, the NHL announced on Monday, as part of the 2026 NHL Global Series.
Veikkaus Arena has hosted seven previous NHL regular-season games, including most recently at the 2018 Global Series, when the Florida Panthers and Winnipeg Jets played a pair of games at the venue.
Two top Hurricanes forwards will return to their homeland for the series. Centres Sebastian Aho and Jesperi Kotkaniemi were born in Rauma and Pori, respectively. Aho leads the team with 47 assists and 70 points.
The Kraken also feature a pair of Finnish natives in its forward group with Eeli Tolvanen, born in Vihti, and Kaapo Kakko, born in Turku.
Tolvanen played 74 games for the Helsinki-based KHL club Jokerit, whose home ice is Veikkaus Arena, during the 2017-18 and 2020-21 seasons.
The NHL's slate of 2026-27 regular-season games in Europe has now expanded to four. The Ottawa Senators and Chicago Blackhawks will also play Global Series games in Düsseldorf, Germany on Dec. 18 and 20.
