Carolina Hurricanes winger Nino Niederreiter suffered a lower-body injury on Friday night during a 6-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Niederreiter's skate appeared to hit a rut in the ice late in the third period. He skated to the bench and did not return.

The 29-year-old has three goals in seven games this season.

Niederreiter has 160 goals and 167 assists in 664 career NHL games with Carolina, the Minnesota Wild and New York Islanders.
