The Carolina Hurricanes can breathe a sigh of relief after one of their top forwards exited Friday's game early.
Seth Jarvis is still undergoing evaluation, but the team doesn't expect him to miss much time after he took a stick to the eye early against the Vancouver Canucks, head coach Rod Brind'Amour told reporters after the game.
Jarvis was ruled out of the contest in the first period after he was high-sticked by teammate Andrei Svechnikov. He appeared to be in immediate pain and exited the ice with the assistance of team training staff.
He finished with just 2:15 of ice time, but managed an assist, a shot on goal and a hit in that time.
The Team Canada hopeful has been on a goal-scoring streak to start the year, with 10 markers and six assists for 16 points in 17 games, including Friday against the Canucks.
