The Carolina Hurricanes signed defenceman Gavin Bayreuther to a one-year, two-way contract on Friday.
Bayreuther will make $775,000 in the NHL or $140,000 in the AHL, with a guarantee of at least $150,000.
The 31-year-old spent the 2024-25 season with Lausanne HC in the National League in Switzerland, scoring five goals and 23 points in 52 games in the regular season. Bayreuther added two goals and seven points in 18 playoff games as Lausanne lost in the championship series to the ZSC Lions.
Bayreuther has appeared in 122 career NHL games with the Dallas Stars and Columbus Blue Jackets and has scored 28 points.
