Noel Gunler is headed back to the Hurricanes.
The Swedish forward signed a one-year, two-way contract with Carolina worth $813,750 at the NHL level, the team announced on Friday.
Gunler, 23, spent last season with the Hurricanes' AHL affiliate in Chicago, recording 13 goals and 13 assists in 58 games.
He has played 100 career AHL games — all with the Wolves — putting up 24 goals and 25 assists.
The six-foot-two, 185-pounder also has 56 points (28 goals, 28 assists) in 151 career Swedish Hockey League games.
