The Carolina Hurricanes are bringing in goaltending help from Russia.
The team has signed netminder Amir Miftakhov to a one-year contract, his agent Dan Milstein announced Tuesday.
Miftakhov, 25, spent the 2024-25 season with Ak Bars Kazan of the KHL, posting a 13-11-3 record over 30 games, along with a 2.18 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.
Drafted 186th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020, Miftakhov spent one season in North America in 2021-22, appearing in 22 games for the AHL's Syracuse Crunch and five games for the ECHL's Orlando Solar Bears.
