The Carolina Hurricanes have signed goaltender Yaniv Perets to a two-year, $775,000 entry-level contract on Tuesday.
The Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Que. native most recently helped Quinnipiac University capture the first national championship in school history.
Perets will earn $82,500 at the AHL level and has received a $60,000 signing bonus.
"Yaniv was a crucial part of Quinnipiac's run to the national championship this season, and he has been an elite goaltender for his entire collegiate career," said Hurricanes GM Don Waddell in a statement. "He is a proven winner, and we look forward to seeing him develop in the crease."
The 23-year-old held a 34-4-3 record in 41 games along with a 1.49 goals-against average, a .931 save percentage and 10 shutouts this NCAA season.
