Carolina Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov has been fined $5,000 for kneeing Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton on Friday, the NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced.
The incident occurred at 5:26 of the second period. Svechnikov was not assessed a penalty on the play.
The money from the fine goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
