Yet another player has managed to come to terms on a deal with their team before heading to a hearing.
Forward Maxim Tsyplakov has agreed to a two-year, $4.5 million deal with the New York Islanders ahead of his July 29 arbitration hearing date, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported Friday.
Tsyplakov netted 10 goals and 25 assists in his rookie season with the Islanders last year while also laying down 140 hits — tied for the fourth-most on the Isles.
The 26-year-old Russian right-winger joins Kaapo Kakko (Seattle Kraken), Morgan Barron and Gabriel Vilardi (Winnipeg Jets), and Lukas Dostal and Drew Helleson (Anaheim Ducks) as players who elected salary arbitration but have since signed.
Tsyplakov joined the Islanders ahead of the 2024-25 season after spending the last seven seasons in the KHL with Moscow Spartak.
