The New York Islanders have placed veteran grinder Leo Komarov on waivers, per Sportsnet's Chris Johnston.
The 34-year-old is in the third year of a four-year, $12-million pact signed with the Islanders during the 2018 off-season.
Komarov was pointless with a single shot on goal in 12:09 of ice time during the Islanders' 2-1 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday and has struggled this season overall, putting up just two assists across 16 games.
During his previous two seasons in Long Island, the gritty Finn recorded 40 points in 130 games.
Much-beloved during his time in Toronto, Komarov collected 122 points in 327 games across five campaigns as a Maple Leaf.
