The New York Islanders have signed forward Victor Eklund to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Monday.
Eklund was drafted in the first round, 16th overall, by the Islanders in June.
The 18-year-old from Stockholm, Sweden, had 31 points (19 goals and 12 assists) in 42 games with Djurgardens of HockeyAllsvenskan this past season.
He has represented Sweden at the past two world junior championships and earned a bronze medal in 2024.
New York acquired the 16th-overall pick, along with the 17th-overall pick, from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for defenceman Noah Dobson.
