The New York Islanders have signed forward Hudson Fasching to a two-year contract extension, the team announced Monday.
Fasching, 27, split the 2022-23 season between the Islanders and their AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Islanders.
In 49 games at the NHL level this season, Fasching recorded career highs in games played, goals (10), assists (9), and points (19). He appeared in all six of the Islanders' playoff games in Round 1, before the team was eliminated by the Carolina Hurricanes.
With Bridgeport, he collected another 11 points in 17 games (seven goals, four assists) during the regular season.
Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 2013, Fasching had previously spent time in the Buffalo Sabres and Arizona Coyotes organizations. The Minnesota native was due to become an unrestricted free-agent this summer after the expiry of his one-year deal with the Islanders.
The details of Fasching's new contract have not yet been disclosed by the team.
