Tony DeAngelo has re-upped with the New York Islanders.
The defenceman has signed a two-year contract extension with an annual average value of $4.5 million, the team announced Friday.
DeAngelo, 30, recorded five goals and 30 assists in 76 games last season.
He was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
Over 482 career NHL games with the Islanders, Carolina Hurricanes, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Rangers and Arizona Coyotes, DeAngelo has 264 points (57 goals and 207 assists).
He was drafted 19th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2014.
