Ivan Provorov agreed to a seven-year, $59.5 million contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.
The deal is worth $8.5 million in AAV.
The 28-year-old blue-liner posted seven goals and 26 assists last season with Columbus. He has also been one of the more available defencemen in the league, skating in all 82 regular-season games in six of his nine NHL seasons.
Provorov was selected with the seventh pick in the 2015 draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, where the six-foot-one, 213-pound blue-liner spent his first seven seasons.
The Yaroslavl, Russia native has 282 points (77 goals, 205 assists) in 696 games.
