James Reimer's stint with the New York Rangers is already over.
The veteran goaltender was placed on unconditional waivers for the purposes of a contract termination on Saturday.
Reimer initially signed a one-year contract with the Rangers on Oct. 25, but after just one period of play in which he gave up three goals on eight shots against the Los Angeles Kings on Oct. 26, the 38-year-old was benched and never returned to a game for the Blueshirts.
New York was Reimer's ninth NHL team in a little over 16 seasons.
