The Winnipeg Jets are getting their top defenceman back.
Josh Morrissey has been activated from the injured-reserve list, the club announced Friday.
Morrissey was placed on the injured reserve last week as teams returned from the Olympic break. He suffered an upper-body injury during Canada's first game in Milan against Czechia and did not return for the remainder of the tournament.
Morrissey also missed the 4 Nations Face-Off final due to illness and was knocked out of Winnipeg's ensuing playoff run early due to a knee injury.
He has appeared in 56 games this season, notching 10 goals and 32 assists.
Morrissey's return comes after the Jets dealt defencemen Luke Schenn and Logan Stanley to the Buffalo Sabres prior to the NHL trade deadline.
Forward Isak Rosen, acquired in the deal with the Sabres, and forward Brad Lambert have been recalled from AHL Manitoba.
