Jets add veteran defender Jordie Benn from Canucks

The Winnipeg Jets have shored up their blue line with the addition of Jordie Benn from the Vancouver Canucks, the teams announced Monday.

The Canucks will receive a 2021 sixth-round pick in return for Benn.

Benn has appeared in 31 games this season for the Canucks recording a goal and adding eight assists this season. The 33-year-old is in the final year of his two-year, $4 million deal he signed with Vancouver.

The Victoria, B.C. native has appeared in 548 career NHL games with the Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens and Canucks scoring 24 goals and 124 points in that time.
