The Winnipeg Jets are adding depth between the pipes heading into the season.
Clay Stevenson has been claimed off waivers from the Washington Capitals after he was unable to win the backup job from Charlie Lindgren.
The 27-year-old appeared in four games in the NHL with the Capitals posting a 3-1 record, a 2.00 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage. He spent the majority of his season in the AHL going 18-13-4 while posting a 2.62 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.
With Connor Hellebuyck not reporting to training camp, the Jets needed to find some NHL experience behind Stuart Skinner, with Domenic DiVincentiis expected to be the backup to start the season.
DiVincentiis has not appeared in an NHL game yet after posting a 13-16-3 record with a 3.03 goals-against average and an .896 save percentage in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose.
