Winnipeg Jets defenceman Dylan Samberg could miss six to eight weeks after suffering a high ankle sprain during Day 1 of training camp, general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff announced Friday.

Samberg, 22, played 32 games with the AHL's Manitoba Moose last season, registering one goal, six assists and a plus-4 rating.

The Jets selected the six-foot-four blueliner 43rd overall in the 2017 NHL Draft.
