The Winnipeg Jets will be eyeing the top of the Central Division standings on Saturday when they host the Los Angeles Kings as -170 home favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Winnipeg posted a decisive 4-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night and now sits one point back of the St. Louis Blues and the Minnesota Wild in the division standings heading into Saturday night’s matchup at Canada Life Centre.
The Jets remain in striking distance of the Central Division lead despite posting wins in just three of their last six outings. The Winnipeg offence has sputtered at times, scoring just three total goals over their three recent defeats, and those scoring woes have contributed to a steady 5-1-1 run for the UNDER at sports betting sites.
The Kings, meanwhile, look for an eighth straight win as they prepare to hit the ice on Saturday as +145 underdogs. It has been a streaky campaign for the Kings, whose current 7-0-0 run follows a dismal 1-5-1 stretch to open their schedule. Los Angeles has limited opponents to just 11 total goals during its current surge and ranks second in the NHL with a 2.21 team goals-against average. That has produced a 10-4-0 run for the UNDER in their first 14 games.
Elsewhere on Saturday, the Montreal Canadiens hope to build on a 4-2 upset win over Calgary when they visit the Detroit Red Wings as +100 underdogs. Thursday’s victory marked just the fourth win of the season for the faltering Canadiens, who also sport a 1-5-0 road record. Listed as slim -120 chalk for Saturday’s contest, Detroit saw a three-game win streak come to an end in Thursday’s 2-0 loss to Washington. And while the Red Wings have climbed into third place in the Atlantic Division standings during a respectable 7-6-2 start, they were outscored by a wide 9-1 overall margin in a pair of early-season losses at the Bell Centre.
As well, the Ottawa Senators look to snap a six-game slide as they host the Pittsburgh Penguins as +130 underdogs on Saturday. The Senators have been outscored by a 25-11 margin during their current 0-5-1 run, and have not picked up a win on home ice since October 17. The status of Sidney Crosby (COVID-19 protocol) is still uncertain as the Penguins return to action as -150 betting favourites for Saturday. Pittsburgh is coming off a 3-2 win over Florida, but has yet to tally consecutive victories so far this season.
Also on the Saturday NHL odds, the Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Buffalo Sabres as -180 favourites, while the Vancouver Canucks face the Vegas Golden Knights as +130 underdogs.
