Jets' Kyle Connor, Nate Schmidt placed in COVID-19 protocol

Winnipeg Jets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois says they were really happy with their March, and getting back into the race, but hopes they can step it up even more in April and down the stretch, and be peaking at the right time.

Winnipeg Jets forward Kyle Connor and defenceman Nate Schmidt are in COVID-19 protocol, the team said on Wednesday.

Coach Dave Lowry said Connor and Schmidt tested positive before the team's game Wednesday night against the Buffalo Sabres.

Connor leads the team in scoring with 41 goals and 41 assists in 67 games.

Schmidt has four goals and 27 assists in 66 games.
