Logan Stanley will have to spend some time in the press box.
After landing a punch on a seemingly unaware Brady Tkachuk, the towering Winnipeg Jets defenceman has been suspended one game by the NHL's Department of Player Safety on Sunday.
Stanley was assessed a double minor for roughing on the play which occurred at the 13:15 mark of the first period of the Jets' 4-2 loss to Ottawa on Saturday.
The incident not only upset Tkachuk – who received a 10-minute misconduct on the play – but also Senators head coach Travis Green.
"I will probably choose my words wisely," he told the media post-game, per Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch. "If the refs had to do it again and call it again, they'd probably make a different call. You never like to see a guy get suckered in the face."
The six-foot-seven Stanley is in the midst of his best offensive season, recording a career-high seven goals and six assists in 40 games this season.
