The Winnipeg Jets will be without their No. 1 defenceman for the foreseeable future.
Josh Morrissey is now considered week-to-week with an upper-body injury, Jets head coach Scott Arniel told reporters on Thursday.
Morrissey sustained the injury on Oct. 7 against the Colorado Avalanche and was initially day-to-day.
The veteran blue-liner attempted to throw a hit at the end of the first period, but missed and collided hard with the glass. He held his right hand in pain with his glove down on the ice, and then headed to the locker room.
Morrissey returned for the start of the second period, but exited again after just one shift.
The 31-year-old has three assists in four games to begin the season. He appeared in 77 games in 2025-26, totalling 55 points (14 goals, 41 assists) with a plus-six rating.
Morrissey finished top-10 in Norris Trophy voting from 2022-25.
