Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers exited Sunday's contest against the New Jersey Devils with just over eight minutes left in third period and did not return.
The eight-year pro went to the dressing room after taking multiple cross-checks in the Devils' zone from defenceman Brendan Smith and falling to the ice.
After the 4-2 loss, Jets coach Rick Bowness said he had no update on Ehlers.
Ehlers missed time earlier in the season after undergoing sports hernia surgery in mid-November.
Entering play Sunday, the 27-year-old had scored four goals and had recorded 16 assists in the 19 games he's played this year.
