The Winnipeg Jets have placed forward Mason Appleton on injured reserve and recalled defenceman Ville Heinola from Manitoba of the AHL, the team announced Thursday.
The Jets announced Wednesday that Appleton will be sidelined 8-12 weeks after undergoing wrist surgery.
Heinola has no goals and seven assists in 11 games with Manitoba.
In 25 career NHL games with Winnipeg, Heinola has one goal and nine assists.
