The Winnipeg Jets placed forward Patrik Laine on injured reserve on Friday due to an upper-body injury.

Laine, 22, has played in just one game so far this season, the opening win over the Calgary Flames last Thursday. The Finnish star had two goals and an assist in the 4-3 victory.

The Jets also placed forward Nate Thompson on IR and moved defenceman Dylan DeMelo to the active roster.

The 3-1 Jets host the Ottawa Senators on Saturday in the first of a seven-game homestand.
