Rasmus Kupari is heading overseas.
The pending restricted free agent signed a two-year contract with Lugano HC of the Switzerland's National League, the team announced Tuesday.
Kupari, 25, spent the last two seasons in the Winnipeg Jets organization. In 2024-25, he played 59 games, scoring five goals and eight points while averaging 10:16 of ice time. The Jets acquired the centre as part of the package that sent Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Los Angeles Kings in 2023.
Per Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press, the Jets are still expected to extend a qualifying offer to Kupari, which means Winnipeg would retain his NHL rights.
He was selected 20th overall by the Kings at the 2018 NHL Draft and has appeared in 217 NHL games.
