Gustav Nyquist's night has come to an abrupt end.
The Winnipeg Jets right-winger was ruled out for the remainder of Thursday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks, the team announced.
It's unclear when the injury occurred or what happened, but some time after his third shift, Nyquist was seen walking back to the Jets locker room in visible discomfort.
The Swede played all of just 1:28 before exiting, but made sure to make an impact as he collected an assist — his fifth — on the game's opening goal by Vladislav Namestnikov less than two minutes into the opening frame. His last shift ended at the 11:57 mark of the first period.
Nyquist, 36, had played in all 10 of Winnipeg's previous games this season, logging four points, all assists, entering Thursday.
He joined the Jets via free agency in the summer, signing a one-year deal.
