The Winnipeg Jets have agreed to terms with forward Dominic Toninato on a one-year, two-way contract with an average annual value in the NHL of $700,000, the team announced Saturday.
Toninato, according to Sportnset’s Jets insider Ken Wiebe, will likely be a recall option for Winnipeg next season.
In 46 games for the Florida Panthers last season, Toninato scored four goals and seven assists. This past year he also spent 15 games with the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds, with whom he picked up five goals and three assists.
The 26-year-old was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fifth round, 126th overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft.
